Make it Modern: Jacquie Gering

Jacquie is a Member of the Chicago MQG. Since discovering quilting five years ago, Jacquie has become a passionate quilt maker and designer. She is known for her “out of the box” designs and unique style. Her work has been featured in both national and international publications, and she is the co-author of Quilting Modern:  Techniques and Projects for Improvisational Quilts.  She blogs and shares her quilting knowledge on her popular blog, Tallgrass Prairie Studio and lives in downtown Chicago with her husband and black lab, Bruno.  She was one of the founders of the Kansas City Modern Quilt Guild and is a member of the Chicago Modern Quilt Guild.

Recently, Jacquie had the opportunity to speak about modern quilting on The Quilt Show with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims. The Quilt Show is a website offered to quilters worldwide the opportunity to watch a fully produced web “TV” show that features great instruction as well as entertaining segments providing insights into the lifestyles of well-known quilt personalities. The show is the first quilting show series to be shot in front of a live audience.

From today until February 11, 2013 you can watch the show for free. Just click here for the link. (I just finished watching it and I feel inspired and ready to sew. I highly suggest you watch it too!)

The Quilt Show is also offering anyone wanting to sign up for TQS during this time period a 20% discount on membership.  The coupon code you need to enter when purchasing the membership is: 229541507553.

Enjoy the show and have fun learning more about Jacquie and her amazing talent.
